What's new

New features and changes, newest first.

#Reuse controls from other courses (22 October 2026)

In the Studio's Course stage, All controls shows the starts, controls and finishes that other courses use over the same ground, on any map. Place one on its matching symbol and it lands exactly where the others put it. See Use the controls from other courses.

#Events and Areas on the home page (22 October 2026)

  • The list on the home page now has two views. Events lists courses by event, newest first, under month headings. Areas lists places: maps of the same ground are one area, named after the map added last. See Find an event or a place.
  • Pins that used to sit on top of each other are now one pin per place, with a count. Pins that would overlap gather into a bubble, and a bubble on a single spot opens a short list.
  • A new page for an area shows its events and its maps, with each map outlined on the map. See An area's page.
  • In view is a new filter chip that limits the list to what the map shows.

#Easier course setting, and Print and Send to watch on the course page (22 October 2026)

  • Print and Send to watch are now on the course's page, so you don't have to open the replay first. See A course's page.
  • In the Studio, the bar shows the length of the course as you go, and a dashed line follows the cursor with the length of the leg you are about to place. See Draw the course.
  • A control can be used more than once: click it again with a Place tool and the next number lands at the same spot, drawn as one circle (3/7). See Use a control more than once.

When the map is bigger than the paper (a 1:4,000 sprint map printed at 1:4,000, say), Print to scale squashed the map and put the controls in the wrong places. It now prints at the true scale, cropped to the paper around the course, and the preview says so. See Print to scale.

#Help pages (20 October 2026)

This help section: a two-minute overview, quick starts, and a guide to every feature, from replaying a race to making a map, sharing and the Garmin watch app. Open it from the ? button at the top right of Home and the Studio, or search for "help" in the command palette. Every page has a search box, and / jumps to it.

#Contours on street-O maps (19 October 2026)

Maps made from OpenStreetMap can now have contour lines, at 2.5, 5 or 10 m. They are off by default. See Contours.

#Street-O maps from OpenStreetMap (19 October 2026)

In the Studio, Make from OpenStreetMap draws a street-O map of any area up to 3 km a side, with no scan needed. See Street-O map from OpenStreetMap.

#Import from RouteGadget (October 2026)

Bring an event from RouteGadget into the Studio: its map, its courses and its GPS routes. See Import from RouteGadget.
